Success Story
Nick Vujicic

Nick was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, which caused him to be born without limbs but only two tiny feet, one with fused toes. Most people born with this syndrome don’t survive past infancy, but Nick did survive. Throughout his life, he was determined that his disability would not limit him in any way and went onto founding a charity called Life without Limbs an international ministry serving those who are missing one or more limbs.

£60,000 raised for the NHS

Sir Captain Tom inspired someone to walk again. A disabled ambulance call handler was inspired by Captain Tom’s walk to raise money for the NHS. Sean Ash was diagnosed with a rare spinal condition last year and was told he wouldn’t be able to walk again. But after seeing what Sir Captain Tom did to help during the pandemic inspired him to do the same. After months of physical therapy, he was able to take small steps with a walker. Sean completed one lap around Millwall football stadium and raised almost £60,000.
